Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia and moved to Boston 3 years ago with my husband, who enrolled in graduate school here. Back in Moscow I studied economics (boring, I know), but after moving to Boston I decided to pursue a more creative career in photography and social media. Boston seemed very small at the beginning, especially compared to Moscow (which is huge!), but it grew on me, and over time I have absolutely fallen in love with this city! Now I can say that this place inspires me every day.
When did you realize your passion for photography?
I remember the first time I thought about getting a good camera and developing my photography skills – it happened while I was on vacation with my family in Romania. While we were there I was taking lots of pictures, because I wanted to document all of our adventures. Ever since that trip I have been obsessed with taking pictures, creating memories, and capturing all the beauty around me.
How has becoming an Instagram influencer impacted your life or career?
A few years back I never thought I’d become an Instagram influencer (I didn’t even know that was a thing!). I started using Instagram just like everyone else, to share everyday moments with friends and family. Then somehow it became much more for me. Being an influencer has opened a lot of doors for me – to work with brands, meet new and interesting people, and explore new places.
What is your advice to aspiring photographers on Instagram?
Go out there, take photos, stay inspired, travel more, and always carry a camera with you – whether it’s an iPhone or DSLR camera. You never know when you’ll get the chance to take your best shot!
Anything else you’d like to share?
I just want to say that I’m so glad to be a part of the IgersBoston community. There are so many talented people in Boston, and I am happy we can all share our love for photography and this city!
