Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a Salvadoran, born and raised. Moved to to the USA December 1998. Went from San Salvador(98 degrees) straight to Anchorage, Alaska(25 degrees and snowing) as I remember, drastic change but I loved it. Long story short, I married my high school girlfriend, moved to Boston in 2003. I have two amazing boys, 9 and 13 years old.
When did you realize your passion for photography?
Instagram made me discover that photography was more than just to a shot in the air, literally. Little by little I became more critical about the perfection(through my eyes) of all of my shots, pushing me to search for better captures every time. The need for better material fire started my passion for photography.
What is your advice to aspiring photographers on Instagram?
Always frame your shots. Include everything you want to show to people, make sure the light is right and your focus is on point. Posting hours are critical, for example, if you post a shot at 3AM you most likely won’t receive as many likes as you want, timing may not be everything but it helps a lot when Instagraming. Needless to say your shots need to be relevant, you may not want to post a shot of you skiing during the hottest day in the summer, or posting a shot of the rain during a perfect sunny day.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Choose your hashtag tags accordingly and make them specific. By doing this you would actually channel your audience.
