Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Holly. I am a fashion illustrator and live just south of Boston. I grew up always seeking a way to express myself creatively and while study fine arts in college, discovered the art of fashion illustration. Since then, I’ve been creating fashion-inspired art as both my passion and my career!
When did you realize your passion for illustration?
Though it sounds cliche, I’ve been sketching for as long as I can remember! My family has always encouraged my creative endeavors and enrolled me in art lessons at a very young age. I can’t imagine a life without creating art.
How has becoming an Instagram influencer impacted your life or career?
When I started my Instagram account about two and a half years ago, I was working as a paraprofessional in the public school system. I was sharing my art purely as a way to create a visual portfolio I could use to represent my work. The profile quickly gained a lot of followers from both the fashion and art communities and I began getting a lot of commission requests. I was able to quit my full time job soon after, and now I have the ability to work with major fashion and beauty brands and live the dream of making a living off of doing what I love!
What is your advice to aspiring photographers on Instagram?
Stay consistent. Share high quality images. Share what you are passionate about and an audience will organically be attracted to you.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I think Boston is an amazing city for creatives to thrive, and we are so blessed to have amazing places, historical and new, for us to explore (and then photograph and share!).
