Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I moved to Boston almost 18 years ago to attend college and never left! I am a huge Boston sports fan (Tom Brady is the GOAT!) and technology enthusiast who practices Vinyasa yoga. Oh and I say “wicked”, a lot.
When did you realize your passion for photography?
It was night time at a wedding in Maine in the summer of 2015, a friend of mine told me to sit somewhere and not move. I had no idea why I had to sit in the same spot for 30 seconds at night. What resulted was a long-exposure shot that floored me. I didn’t know the cool results of long-exposures were possible and being a technology enthusiast, I wanted in. I purchased my first DSLR a few weeks after that and started following @IgersBoston and other accounts to help inspire me to improve my skills daily.
What is your advice to aspiring photographers on Instagram?
Be kind, be humble, be open to feedback. Feedback is an important part of your development as a photographer. I seek out feedback from my peers in the Igers community knowing that any feedback whether positive or constructive is going to help me improve.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I’m incredibly grateful to have met some wonderful humans in the IgersBoston community who will be lifelong friends. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people to shoot!
